Petition NEW BRITISH FLAG
More details
That there be devised a Flag for the People of the British Isles as a Whole.
In effect if not in name the Device presently in use for the Union of the British is the Flag of the Empire of the English in the Islands, and it is defective therefore not simply for failing to enjoy the loyalty and affection of all the Irish but also for overlooking completely the presence in the Union of the Welsh. Whether such a Flag should retain the present symbolism in some way or adopt symbolism more secular in nature would be a matter for debate. The Nature of the State for which such a Flag is intended may be found in other Petitions that have been published on the Cabinet Office's Pages of the Web-Site. The Reference Numbers for these Petitions are 760, 5627 and 9721.
