Rejected petition Vote of no confidence in the EU referendum process and result.
Key information presented by campaign groups in the lead up to the EU referendum was incorrect, misleading & misrepresentative. This created public confusion & impoverished political debate. The public vote could only be based on misrepresented information, which is not part of a healthy democracy.

This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept this petition because it asks for something that neither the House of Commons nor the Government can do. The expression "vote of no confidence" is used when talking about a vote in the House of Commons which tests whether or not the Government of the day has the confidence of a majority of MPs in the House of Commons. That's why we allow petitions asking for a vote of no confidence in the Government or in individual Ministers.
The concept of the House having “confidence” in someone does not apply to the referendum result or process.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
