At present Planning Authories have no duty of care responsibilities in law regarding planning decisions. This is an anomaly which renders LPA's unchallengable in law and as such constitutes a basic infringment of human rights in the UK. Local Planning Authorities must be made to have a duty of care regarding aspects of the work they do.
