Rejected petition Hold a General Election in December 2016
A December election allows time for the parties to plan and present their approach to EU negotiations and ensures that the elected government has sufficient public support and authority to negotiate effectively with our European partners. It is undemocratic for negotiations to proceed without this.
More details
I am not affiliated to any political party. I believe that how we negotiate our exit from the EU significantly affects everyone in the UK. The current uncertainty is causing political and economic turmoil. The public has not yet had the opportunity to evaluate how each political party will approach these negotiations. Following Cameron's resignation, the next Prime Minister must have sufficient public approval to negotiate with authority.
