Rejected petition Keep Friends on Freeview
More details
Friends will be removed from the schedule of E4 from this weekend (3&4 September 2011). Although it will be moved to Comedy Central this will only be available to those who subscribe to satellite or cable television.
In these times of economic downturn, rising energy prices and global conflicts programmes such as Friends have to be available to the masses.
I suggest that Friends is taken up by another freeview channel (possibly BBC Three as it's awful anyway) and shown for all of Britain to view.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
Responsibility for what is broadcast on television and radio rests with the broadcasters and the organisations that regulate broadcasting.
It is a long-standing principle that the Government does not interfere in programme matters, either on arrangements for scheduling or on content.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
