Closed petition Private-Hire Pirating
Closed on
Illegal touting for hire by licensed and unlicensed private-hire drivers is a major problem in all UK cities. It is a criminal act and the general public has to be protected.
1.1 No private-hire company to use the words “TAXI” or “CAB” in any of their names or on any advertising whether it be on their offices or vehicle
1.2 Any private-hire driver caught plying for hire “touting” illegally (including non-licensed drivers and vehicles) to have his vehicle and all fixtures and fittings including radio’s and taximeters immediately impounded as it is an illegal and criminal act.
1.3 Private-hire vehicles to have no advertising or company logo’s on them excepting a small 4cm x 8cm plate with vehicle details on it affixed to the rear.
1.4 Private-hire vehicles not to be allowed to rank up under any circumstances
1.5 Licensing authorities to vigorously enforce illegal plying for hire.
