Petition Scrap the compulsory roll out of Smart Meters by energy companies
Smart meters said to give total control of energy use & reduce bills is a ruse to introduce ‘time of day’ pricing tariffs. Designated peak times will impact low income, pensioners and increase bills. Energy companies will manipulate behaviour to their advantage with smart meters to spy on us.

UK Gov has done little to stop consumer exploitation. Smart meters infringe privacy & give risk of data security. Hackers could hijack the grid & cut off your supply. Many EU countries reject smart meters. We don't need to comply with EU Directives for compulsory smart meters.
UK Gov must scrap compulsory roll out – it’s costly, unlikely to change consumption habits, adversely affect low income/pensioners, is invasive & a security risk, restricting freedom to use energy when you need to.
