Rejected petition Parliament not to invoke Article 50 without protecting Freedom of Movement
Leaving the EU without protecting Freedom of Movement of People would be incompatible with the Human Rights Act 1998 Article 8 The Right to Respect for Private and Family Life, as many families in the UK and in other EU countries are mixed European including UK members.
More details
All UK Law should be interpreted in a way that is compatible with HRA rights. If an Act of Parliament breaches those rights a court can declare the legislation to be incompatible. It is unlawful for a public authority to act incompatibly with HRA rights and if they do so anyone whose rights have been violated can bring court proceedings. Any Act of Parliament created in order to invoke Article 50 without protecting Freedom of Movement would be incompatible with such rights.
