Rejected petition Increase the national speed limit for cars on motorways in dry weather to 80mph.

Modern vehicles are capable of driving at 80mph safely now. Since 1965, when the 70mph speed limit was introduced, vehicle safety has improved dramatically.
This system works well and safely across Europe.
