We currently lack a national holiday. Recent events show how uniquely the NHS unites people across political divides. The 70th anniversary of the NHS is in 2018. We can celebrate annually something which shows us at our best. The whole nation made and protects the NHS, and it cares for all of us.

Our NHS was declared the best healthcare system in a respected international survey of different services. It came top for quality, access and efficiency, in spite of spending the second lowest amount per person.
