Rejected petition Stop airlines charging extra just to choose where we can sit. It should be free

I have made this petition in protest of airlines being able to squeeze people out of more money just to choose a seat position on a flight in which they have already paid for. You should still be able to select which seats you like but I believe that this service should be free.

I have currently paid an extra £100 just to be able to sit next to my partner who is already on the same flight booking on me and I think it's a bad tactic of airline companies to take money from people Who have already forked out a fortune for flights already.
