Rejected petition Hold a vote about a general election within a year of prime ministerial handover
3 times in the past 40 years the Premiership has changed hands before the end of that Parliament. Each time there are cries of this being "undemocratic". The Fixed Term Parliaments Act establishes that parliament can vote to hold an election, they should be made to consider it in this circumstance.

In 2010 David Cameron suggested an election within 6 months of what he clumsily reffered to as an "unelected Prime Minister".
Now we mostly see Prime Ministers resign but more tragic events may unfold to require a replacement.
A mandated government is good but government and parliament must be able to react to crises and events. 12 months of a new government before Parliament decides if a mandate needs renewing seems fair.
