Petition Criminalise deliberately or negligently misinforming a planning panel/committee.

It seems wrong to me that such an activity is not already criminal.

I asked a planning panel committee manager:

'Am I right in thinking that anyone who intentionally or recklessly misinforms the panel is subject to criminal proceedings?'

and received the reply:
'No, if such a thing was to occur it would not amount to a criminal offence.'

This does not seem right to me.
