Media exploits individuals in reality shows etc we need a law to protect people. The law must prevent any waiver of liability and subject media companies to strict liability conditions. A special type of warrant must should be available and the ability to subpoena witnesses for the defence.

Media exploits individuals in reality shows we need a law to protect people, this includes Shilpa Shetty who was subjected to racist abuse on Big Brother, Patrick Dauncey fell from a cliff in The Island, Jacintha Saldanha committed suicide after a telephone prank & Ajwinder Bains in his Truman Show rip-off

All these people have suffered horrific manipulation and it gets worse each year. It is time for Parliament to act, to deal with this increasing problem. There should be high punitive damages
