Petition Health Research Tax on all UK Taxpayers - let's finally cure Cancer and the rest

A new tax used to fund Health Research, a small amount taken every month from all taxpayers and used to fund medical research. Suggested monthly figure for UK tax brackets:

Basic - 40p
Higher - 50p
Additional - £1

Such a small amount per person will generate £100m+ per year (HMRC Stats).

Based on HMRC Stats for 2016 tax year:

24.7m Basic rate = £9.8m
4.4m Higher rate = £2.2m
0.3m Additional rate = £0.3m
Total = £12.4m p/m

Funds to be given to single disease until cured then move to next (order TBD).

Suggest management board made of unpaid visionaries who are only interested in making the world better (i.e. Musk, Branson, Dyson etc.)
