Family legal expenses policies commonly sold by insurance companies as an add on for about £30 specifically exclude taking any legal action against any insurance company or bank for any insurance contract, savings, pension or investment policy. This should be outlawed as an unfair contract condition

The insurance industry has created a self protection society to the consumer's detriment. The Government has heavily criticised the FCA and the Ombudsman they created and often reach a decisions different to the law. The consumer is at their mercy as without legal expenses cover they can't afford to take action against arrogant, big boy bully insurance providers who just tell the consumer to go away. These policies are consequently worthless in this regard one of the biggest industries in the UK
