This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament
Rejected petition Abolish University/Further Education fees in the UK/Wales and Northern Ireland.
English, Welsh and Northern Irish students have to pay fees of up to £9,000 per year because EU law does not prevent different charges being applied within the UK. We are not not in the EU and our futures of tomorrow should be treated the same as the Scottish students.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
Under UK law, university tuition fees are a devolved matter in Wales and Northern Ireland; consequently, they are not the responsibility of the UK Government.
There is already a petition calling for the abolition of tuition fees in England:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
