Rejected petition Stop the burning of Irish Flags in Northern Ireland on the 12th of July.

Anywhere else in the UK, anyone caught burning the flag of a foreign country would be convicted of a hate crime. However, in Northern Ireland every year on the 12th of July, members of the Loyalist Community celebrate by burning the flag of my grandparents homeland.

Please stop this racism!

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Policing and justice policy in Northern Ireland is devolved. That means that it is the responsibility of the Northern Ireland Executive, not the UK Government and Parliament.

If you'd like to send your petition to the Northern Ireland Assembly, you can find the contact details here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
