Currently in the UK half of cystic fibrosis sufferers live to be over 40 . Daily medication and physiotherapy is required to help reduce mucus build up and antibiotics to prevent infections that will cause scar tissue damage to lungs . Adults with cystic fibrosis must pay for their prescription medication if they work even though not taking it would eventually result in death
