Rejected petition Stop the Great British Bake Off from leaving the BBC

Some TV programs should be considered sacred. We see far too many of the nation's favourites moving to commercial TV and Pay channels. It's simply not good enough!

The Great British Bake Off is a national treasure and one of those programs that should be protected from ugly commercialisation.

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
