The Great British Bake Off has become a great British tradition. The programme has been sold to the highest bidder, lost its key presenters and will never be the same again. This programme is a national treasure and as such must remain with the BBC, with Mel and Sue as presenters.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
