Petition DWP: decision to extend the waiting time for Mortgage payment to 39 weeks!

If you get laid off / paid off / made redundant and have a mortgage – you have to wait 39 Weeks before the DWP will make any payment to your lender?
This is a disgrace – It used to be 13 Weeks wait before April of this year, which was bad enough, but now 9 Months – how are people meant to survive?

What are the government thinking abouts?
Do they want to make people homeless? They would then be responsible for housing them.
There is a severe lack of social housing – and this will just add to the crisis. Social housing will cost 3-4 times the amount of the mortgage!
