Nationally millions are on the waiting list. A number of areas in Sussex have thousands waiting to be housed. Going private is far too expensive.

Council housing is the most affordable and offers the most secure tenancy. We call on the government to start an NHS style (for no profit) national scheme to build large numbers of council housing each year, so that the waiting list can be cleared
within 5 years.
