Rejected petition Proven false accusation of a sex crime should result in a trial for the accuser.

Thousands of people, men and women, are falsely accused of a sex crime yearly with the accuser facing no reprocusions. Meanwhile the accused may face public scrutiny and potential jail time for a crime they have not committed

When a person is proved in a court of law to have not committed any kind of sexual crime against the individual the accuser should face a criminal trial of false accusation.

Making a false allegation of a crime may already in some circumstances lead to a jail sentence - for example, if someone is found guilty of perverting the course of justice. In other cases, people who are accused of making false accusations may be prosecuted for wasting police time.
