Petition Increase the number of years required to be eligible for UK citizenship

If refugees or persons with humanitarian protection can stay in the UK for 5 years and then be eligible for UK citizenship after 5 years, it discourages those from ever returning home once it is safe to do so.

In Norway you have to wait 7 years, in Germany you have to wait 8 years, in Switzerland 10 years, and so on. I think there is a debate to be had about increasing the number of years to be eligible for UK citizenship.
