Petition Increase the Teacher Training Bursuries for Core subjects and Primary Education.

The teacher training bursury for Biology has been slashed by £5000 since last year and is unacceptable. Biology is a core subject and should be treated with the same respect as Chemistry and Physics. To take away from the bursury will only push teachers to leave and teach abroad.

The teacher training bursury is given to students hoping to become either primary or secondary school teachers, it is used to help pay their course fees of £9000 and their living expenses for the year as they do not recieve pay even though they will be working full time. Subjects that require specialism recieve a larger bursury. Biology is not an easy subject and is a core subject throughout young people's time In education and should be given the same bursury as chemistry and physics.
