Closed petition Abolish or Replace the House of Lords

As a democratic society; it is time to remove the unelected and undemocratic House of Lords.

Either remove entirely the need for a second house or replace with a democratic house that the electorate vote for - in either case these un-elected persons should be removed from our political system.

In a modern society we can no longer allow birth-right (privilege) or honours (which are open to abuse) to give individuals the right to decide laws/policy for the rest of society.

While accepting tradition has its place (for e.g. The monacary has no real power) - it has no place when it impacts the fundamental democratic principles more so when the House of Lords is in no way representative of Modern Society.
