This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament
Petition Include Aesthetic Impairment or "Ugliness" in The Equality Act 2010.
We call for “Aesthetic Impairment” to be added to The Equality Act (2010) by the UK government and for suffers to be awarded the same protection from discrimination as the other included groups.
More details
Many people whom are aesthetically Impaired or “ugly” face discrimination and disadvantage on a daily basis. Many unattractive people can be left feeling ostracised and questioning their self-worth and it can also lead to the development of mental health issues.
Whatever the nature or route cause of someone’s appearance, not everybody can conform with the image of what our society deems to be “attractive” and to judge someone based upon this is fundamentally wrong.
