The prime minister and cabinet members should be directly elected. Currently there is a possibility that the legislature could be influenced by the executive; MPs could feel obliged to vote in favour of legislation if they want a cabinet position. Furthermore, how can an MP represent their constituents and be an effective minister; filling two full-time roles?
