Closed petition Increase pay of classroom assistants/ LSAs to nearer the national average wage

I work as I class TA. I am not paid enough to make a living on my own. I am lucky to have a wonderful husband to help me but I want to fight on behalf of myself and for my colleagues who work extremely hard every day and put hours and hours of work in.

The national wage for a NQT teacher within the U.K starts at £22,244 and I as a class TA earn £11,000 a year. I feel at times I can work just as hard and spend the same hours at school as some teachers. I'm not asking for the same wage as teachers but i believe TA/LSA should be earning more money so we can make a living for ourselves.
