Rejected petition Issue bus passes at age 60 for everyone in the UNITED KINGDOM.

On checking my eligibility for a bus pass I checked the government website and found that in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland bus passes are issued at age 60 yet in England issued at pensionable age (currently 66)

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

As you probably know, the reason that different rules apply in different parts of the UK is that powers to make these decisions have been transferred to the Scottish Parliament, the Welsh Assembly and the Northern Ireland Assembly. The UK Government would not therefore be able to increase the age for a bus pass in those nations.

If you would like the UK Government to change the rules for bus passes in England, you could sign this petition:
