Rejected petition Force all professional drivers to have a valid cpc and work on tachograph
All professional drivers, delivery or passenger, should carry an active cpc, tracked and follow the standard drivers hours regulations, which would force companies to increase their no. of drivers as the drivers wouldn't be able to force their drivers to work ungodly hours without a proper break.

I have worked as a delivery driver for a wholesale (kegs included) company and they have regularly said that the laws are more like guidelines and expect us to work faster and harder than safe and expect the drivers to regularly speed to reach the delivery times.

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what you would like the Government or Parliament to change. It is already illegal to drive professionally without a valid CPC, and by law, all commercial vehicles first registered on or after 1 May 2006 must be fitted with digital tachographs.
