Rejected petition Charge non-eea citizens properly for NHS Treatment

It's the case that in 2014-15 the NHS cost each man, woman and child £2,057. It's also the case that non-eea students and workers pay just £150 for full NHS service a year. This is called the Immigration Health Surcharge. We ask the government to increase this in line with the true cost to our NHS.

More details

Additionally the cost of transporting a person who has dialed 999 within London according to The London Ambulance Service costs £254.57.

£2,057 figure according to

It is clear that the British taxpayer is subsidising medical treatment on our NHS.

Please sign this petition to ask the government to consider charging those using our NHS a fair amount far exceeding the £150 we charge at present.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly how you would like the immigration health charge for non-EEA nationals to be changed.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
