Petition Introduce government funding for The Medical Detection Dogs charity.
Dogs can be trained to detect certain cancers in urine samples, quickly, accurately and at less cost to the NHS. They make possible the earlier identification of some difficult to detect cancers. They can also assist people by alerting them to imminent medical dangers. Yet they receive no funding.

This charity has changed the lives of individuals with diabetes, epilepsy, narcolepsy and serious allergies, by giving them greater security and independence. The Medical Assistance dogs help their confidence and general well being and in some cases enables them to lead a normal life. The charity saves the NHS more money by reducing the emergency call out incidents. Its worthwhile work could be extended to help many more people, given money and recognition.
