To appreciate the generation that did so much, and in fact have received so little. We are told from the highest in the land how much the Nation owes the veterans(1939/45) how about considering : Priority to Health Services,Extra Pension, A lump Sum.Care homes for those of us that cannot help themselves.WE get 25p extra on reaching 80yrs. We left school at 14 years of age, went to work, were called up at 18 yrs.put in the service where we were most needed, did what we were told to do , and when it was all over , we that survived, were demobbed and got on with living, We were promised Homes for heroes to live in ? There was No child allowance , No rent allowance,and certainly No single parent allowance, Widows pension 10/- per. week. Thank God we have moved on !When those words said in all sincerity, are next said," We wil Rember them," Before it's too late!
