Petition Make 'having somewhere to call home’ affordable again.
Too many people in our country can no longer afford to live comfortably and without unreasonable stress. This is already a crisis and must be addressed NOW.
More details
We propose the following as a ’starting place’:
- UK house prices should rise in line with the average UK individual wage; regulation should be in place to prevent prices rising in line with what people can borrow.
- Regulation should be in place to ensure that UK average monthly rent for any domestic property does not exceed UK average monthly mortgage payments made by home-owners in similar properties.
- Banks should be heavily taxed for every non-repayment mortgage they issue.
