The execution of Troy Davis in the state of Georgia has been described in the media as little more than a legalised lynching. His death is a serious and flagrant institutional breach of human rights and justice, and Britain should condemn this action without reservation and summon the US Ambassador at the FCO for a full explanation. The final sanction should be the recall of our own Ambassador from Washington.
