Chaplain to Her Majesty, Reverend Gavin Ashenden, resigned under pressure from the royal household having spoken out against the reciting of Koranic texts in a service at St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow which offend Christianity - denying the divinity of Christ. The Queen swore to defend the faith.
