The UK rented housing market is in a dire state. Rented property is expensive. far too scarce, and largely uncontrolled. Landlords and other letting agents should be prevented from leeching on already beleaguered tenants by the imposition of sundry additional charges, as they are in Scotland.

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Government announced in the 2016 Autumn Statement that it would ban letting agents' fees to tenants. You can read more about this in paragraph 3.41 of the Autumn Statement:

We're therefore not sure what additional action you'd like the Government to take.
