The British people recognise and acknowledge the decision of the American people to elect Donald Trump as their President. Accordingly, during the term of his presidency, we will extend to President Trump all of the usual courtesies afforded to the head of state of a democracy. This naturally includes encouraging President Trump to make an official State Visit to the UK at the earliest possible opportunity.
