Raise the retirement age to save money that can be redirected into other government policy - possible raising the state pension itself.
A decreasing number of working age population having to sustain an increasing number of pensioners is unsustainable.
When the current retirement age was set people lived shorter lives - now people live longer, it's only logical, fair and economical that they work longer too.
