Following separation both parents are required, correctly, to play an emotionally supportive role in their children's lives. This is sadly, and too often, hampered by one parent gaslighting relationships, ostracisation and causes long term emotional, psychological and behavioural harm to children.

There is increasing evidence (academic and medical) on the damaging effect gaslighting has on kids and the affected parent. In the US it is an offence to damage kids through this type of behaviour.
