Rejected petition Stop Hospital Tourism to the UK

450 million pounds is spent on treating people who come to the UK for medical treatment. The NHS is already struggling. A case in point: A Nigerian woman owes the NHS more than £500,000 after giving birth to quadruplets shortly after landing in the UK. She has since not paid a anything back.

This topic is gaining momentum on social and news media. I find it incredible that we still have no checks on insurance when visitors arrive in the UK. I say the UK because we have an NHS service that will not turn away someone who needs medical treatment at the expense of the British people. The NHS are drag their feet with this issue and yet are struggling to treat genuine UK citizens.
