Petition Make profiting from lying about a military career a criminal offence

No military or civilian person should be able to make financial gains from lying about or exaggerating military service.

Including but not limited to being paid as an after-dinner speaker (to discuss their military service) or receiving royalties from so-called 'real life event' style book sales.

More details

There are currently several individuals in the public eye who are making a healthy profit by selling books and after-dinner speeches about their so-called military service.

Unless able to be verified (possible by a number of simple checks), they should be prosecuted, & any wrongful financial gain donated to a relevant military charity or similar organisation (for example the Royal British Legion).
