This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure whether you'd like MPs to vote according to the wishes of the majority of their constituents only on the draft law which gives the Prime Minister the power to trigger Article 50. If so, we can't accept a petition about that, because it's a decision for individual MPs to make.

If you'd like MPs to be required to vote according to the wishes of a majority of their constituents on all decisions in the House of Commons, we're not sure how you would like this to work. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
