Rejected petition Petition To Remove the Incumbent Speaker of the House of Commons
This petition seeks to begin a process by the electorate and its representatives in the House of Commons to remove the existing incumbent to the role of Speaker due to repeated failure to maintain political neutrality and also self aggrandisement in the form of abuse of taxpayer- funded expenditure
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
There is no mechanism for the removal of a Speaker during a Parliament. Other than at a general election, the Speaker can only stop being Speaker through resignation or death.
If you like, you could sign the petition below, which asks the House of Commons to debate a vote of no confidence in the Speaker:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
