We petition Her Majesty's Government to assist and inform members of the public in relation to paying UK import duties due on internet purchases from outside the European Union.

At the current time any item that is purchased from outside the European Union through an internet transaction may be liable for UK import duty. The charges that may be levied are opaque and may deter purchases from being undertaken.

We ask that HMRC place some form of charging calculator or list on their website that would make it clearer what charges may be liable based on the value and category of any item purchased.
