Rejected petition Stop high street stores using unrealistic body shapes & photo shopped models.

You can't go anywhere these days without seeing some advertising. In all the media the average woman/girl portrayed is unrealistic.

Almost everything on display is on a thin mannequin or the women/girls in photographs are really tall, overly skinny and yet busty.

More details

This has to stop. We have 7/8 year olds dieting and 9/10 year olds more worried about their looks than anything else. It's setting a crazy standard for our daughters.

Let's persuade the stores to show our girls something more realistic in all their advertising. Tall, short, thin, not so thin, white, black and everything in between.

The stores should reflect the reality of the world we live in. I don't want my daughter dieting her entire life to try and "look right".

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

This petition seems to be calling on retail stores, not the Government or Parliament, to take action.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
