Closed petition Funding for your local town or parish council
Closed on
To make localism a success town and parish councils are required to be pro active, act as leaders, and facilitators in their area.
Whilst the 70,000plus members generally do not receive or seek remuneration, the sector is the only tier of local government that receives no funding from central government. This is in spite of the fact they are being called upon to undertake more work and carry out more services.
Allocating them a share of the central fund currently given to local government would ensure excellent value for money, and cost no more than at present.
We call on Government to implement this immediatley
