Petition Government should underwrite car insurance for young first time drivers.

For young drivers, the average cost of getting on the road has increased by 18% over the last 5 years to almost £6,800. Car insurance makes up a third of the total. This makes it prohibitively expensive for many average income families.

I propose that the government should explore a government backed insurance scheme for young drivers there by offering a fair opportunity to all regardless of family income
